VANCOUVER – Developer PC Urban Properties Corp. is reporting the City of Vancouver has unanimously approved an extended child care facility at 13th and Willow, along with two new rental towers.
The 354-unit rental projects, on the southwest corner of West 13th Avenue and Willow, will transform six duplex lots into two 22 storey towers, including 71 below-market rental homes, a 11,000-square-foot, two-storey child care facility and rooftop amenities.
According to a release, the development is located in close proximity to the Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) Campus and within the Broadway Plan area.
There will be five fully accessible units for Vancouver Coast Health to serve those with significant mobility needs.
“This is a pioneering opportunity for us to build rental and child care together, one that provides desperately needed housing for health care workers and their families at VGH campus, the largest employer in Vancouver and the third largest hospital in ӰԺ,” says Brent Sawchyn, CEO of PC Urban, in a statement.
“At a time when rental developments in BC have been challenged and delayed by new government policies, increased construction costs and other challenges, we are really excited to be able to bring a significant amount of new market and below-market rental homes to this area.”
Completion is anticipated in late 2028.
